Generic role of post:
To be responsible for maintaining financial, accounting and administrative tasks within the department ensuring compliance with all Group policies whilst giving excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
Specific duties:
- Operate the computerised financial systems for purchase ledger and sales ledger. Input sales invoices and maintenance of the debtors system.Raise college purchase orders, processing of pro-formas as and when required and process internal memo invoices and process journals
- Check, prepare and process college purchasing cards. Administer card payments and process relevant documentation
- To arrange the payment of sales invoices by direct debit as and when required
- To support and advise budget holders with regards to queries relating to their budgets
- To work closely with Central Finance regarding the allocation of budget codes and to inform of any concerns/irregularities
- Prepare end of year documentation in connection with purchase orders and goods received
- Preparation of all college income for banking and collection within the locality
- Processpetty cash claims, staff pay and travel claims within a specified time scale. Reconciliation of staff pay claims and petty cash.
- To ensure TCCG financial procedures are adhered to and comply with audit controls and deal with any finance related query. Assist and advise budget holders over budget issues
- To oversee Inventory control as and when required
- To participate in promoting the College at Advice Mornings, Open Days and any other events that may be appropriate
- To follow a programme of planned staff development as identified through the appraisal system
- Working as part of an administrative team and supporting other functions as necessary, to provide holiday and sickness cover which may involve cross site working and assisting with front desk enquiries.
- Any other duties as required by the Finance Manager / Administration Manager.

Qualifications
Essential:
- Level 2 English & Maths
- IT Skills including excel
Experience
Essential:
- Experience with computerised financial systems
- Purchase and sales ledger experience
