We want all students to participate! To be challenged! To gain confidence! To have fun!
PARTICIPATION IN ALL EVENTS, REGARDLESS OF THE LEVEL OF THE PARTICIPANT, IS ENCOURAGED! Modifications for each event will be made on an individual basis to accommodate students with additional disabilities.
LOCATION:
CEDAR VALLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL, ROUND ROCK ISD
8139 Racine Trail, Austin, TX 78717
DIRECTIONS:
From IH 35 North, exit 252B/ RM 620, turn left onto 620.
Go approximately 3.5 miles, turn right at Cornerwood Drive.
School will be on the right at the corner of Cornerwood Drive and Racine Trail.
The main entrance of school is facing Cornerwood.
SCHEDULE OF DAY:
8:30REGISTRATION OPENS
9:15OPENING CEREMONY: BLEACHERS
9:30 TO 11:30 EVENTS OPEN
11:30 TO 1:00 LUNCH/AWARDS: CAFETERIA
1:30 to 5:30 GOALBALL GAMES (separate registration required)
Participants may invite their siblings/friends/family to participate in the events as guests. Participants and guests must be accompanied by at least one adult guardian. Medals will be given to ALL participants for many of the events. Lunch will be provided for all, including participants and family/guests and volunteers. T-shirts are only available to participants who are visually impaired AND volunteers.
Event will be held rain or shine!
INDOOR EVENTS: (ALL EVENTS OPEN FROM 9:30 to 11:30 am)
1. YOUTH GAMES 5 AND UNDER: gross motor activities, tunnels, trikes, sensory activities
2. SENSORY GAMES/ACTIVITIES FOR PARTICIPANTS WITH ADDITIONAL DISABILITIES
OUTDOOR EVENTS: (ALL EVENTS OPEN FROM 9:30 to 11:30 am)
Many of these activities will be modified for students with additional disabilities also! Participation is encouraged!!!
1. SOFTBALL/TENNIS BALL THROW: throw ball for the farthest distance
2. SOFTBALL HIT (AGES 9 AND UP): hit a ball being pitched to player
3. T-BALL HIT (AGES 6-8 & STUDENTS W/ADDITIONAL NEEDS): try hitting a ball on a T
4. SOCCER BALL KICK: kick a soccer ball into a net
5. HOLE-IN- ONE- GOLF: putt a golf ball to target hole
6. BOWLING: knock pins over with bowling ball
7. THREE LEG RACE/SAC RACES: grab a partner, tie up your legs OR jump in a sac to race!
8. BEEP BASEBALL FIND: locate a beeping ball at certain distances (blindfold required)
9. RUNNING OR STANDING LONG JUMP: run and leap as far as you can!
10. OBSTACLE COURSE: negotiate through a series of challenging activities
11. INFLATABLE OBSTACLE COURSE: bounce, jump, and enjoy the fun!
12. CLIMBING WALL: try your climbing skills!
13. BALL TOSS ‘N CATCH: grab a ball and a partner and throw to each other at different distances!
14. CITY BUS: explore a Cap Metro city bus!
15. ROWING FOR ALL: TEXAS Rowing Center will have portable rowing machines!
16. LAWN GAMES: ladder ball, corn hole, frisbee golf
17. BEEP KICKBALL: learn how to play beep kickball!
18. SCAVENGER HUNT: use your GPS AND/ OR MAP skills to locate hidden treasures!
19. FACE PAINTING: have your face decorated with art!!!

1. SPRINT RACES BY AGE GROUP (AWARDS PRESENTED AT LUNCH)
** Please arrive at event at the start time assigned to your age group to participate!
9:30 AMAGES 6-8 (25 METERS) 10:00 AMAGES 9-11 (50 METERS)
10:30 AMAGES 12 TO 14 (100 M)11:00 AMAGES 15 AND UP (100 M)
11:30 PM to 1:00 LUNCH WILL BE SERVED IN THE CAFETERIA
LUNCH PROVIDED BY HHSC BLIND CHILDREN’S SERVICES (JASON’S DELI)
12:30 PM AWARDS PRESENTED FOR OBSTACLE COURSE AND SPRINT RACES IN CAFETERIA!!
