1) What is the purpose of the Single Marine Program?
The purpose for the Single Marine Program (SMP) is to let Single Service Members and Geographical Bachelors enjoy activities such as trips, both local and statewide, opportunities to volunteer, tournaments, and interactive meetings dealing with quality of life. The Single Marine Program (SMP) also offers many great opportunities to take on leadership roles and organize social activities such as monthly meeting which are open to everyone. The meetings are used to discuss Quality of Life issues, upcoming trips, monthly volunteer opportunities and information about services available thru MFR MCCS.
2) Who is eligible? Do I have to be a Marine to take part in the program?
ALL AD/AR Single Service Members and Geographical Bachelors from any branch of service, however you must be stationed at a MARFORRES unit site(s) and attached to the Marine unit’s TO in order to take part in the Single Marine Program on unit site(s).
3) What are the misconceptions about the Single Marine Program?
· Not a dating service.
· Not mandatory fun.
· No formations on trips or other events.
· Transportation is ALWAYS provided.
· Not about just getting free stuff.
4) What can the SMP offer that I don't already have?
The program offers numerous events in which some individuals may not usually have the chance to take part in, such as professional sporting events, deep sea fishing, etc. The Single Marine Program (SMP) also takes part in numerous volunteer activities and special events that promote community involvement at the unit’s local level.
