Arrival Information: Matsue, Japan
Matsue City:
Matsue City is located on the west coast of Japan.
The two closest airports are Izumo Airport and Yonago Airport.
The following airports offer direct flights to Izumo and/or Yonago, but are mainly for domestic flights:
Haneda Airport*** (in Tokyo)
Itami Airport (in Osaka)
Seoul, Incheon (Korea; 3 flights/week to Yonago)
***Haneda Airport handles international flights for 16 cities in Europe, North America, and Asia. If possible, we recommend routing your flight through Haneda Airport instead of Narita.
Further airport information is available from Japan Guide.
***2 flights/day from Narita to Yonago are available through the airline Skymark http://www.skymark.co.jp/en/.
Most international flights typically land at one of the two major international airports:
1) Narita International Airport
2) Kansai International Airport
However, these airports do not generally offer direct flights to Izumo Airport or Yonago Airport.
An airport limousine bus to a nearby airport that operates domestic flights is available – to Haneda Airport in Tokyo (Tokyo International Airport) or to Itami Airport in Osaka (Osaka International Airport). See the final page of this document for details on transferring between these airports and domestic flight details.
For further access information, see Japan Guide’s page & Shimane Prefecture’s page on Matsue.
