Important Notice from E-Z Data for DST FAN Mail Interface users
receiving Variable Annuity account information from
Lincoln Financial Group (LFG)
DST FAN Mail has provided E-Z Data with the following information concerning Lincoln National Life Variable Annuities. Lincoln National Life notified FAN Mail about Variable Annuity sub-account CUSIP changes that went into effect on October 30, 2001.
Lincoln National Life will be providing an Account Position file that reflects the new sub-account CUSIP numbers and data that reflects the share balances as of October 30, 2001 (i.e., the effective change date).
E-Z Data Comments: Please DO NOT create any new Variable Annuity sub-account products for existing Variable Annuity that are merely changing sub-account CUSIP numbers. Please download the required documents from our company website and review the changes that are effective October 30, 2001.

Important notice for 3.2 Users: Failure to convert to the new CUSIP format before processing Lincoln National Life data will result in CDS creating new (duplicate) Sub-Accounts with the new CUSIP format. Additionally, if you change to the new CUSIP format and then process old Lincoln National Life Variable Annuity data files, this will result in CDS creating new (duplicate) sub-accounts with the old CUSIP format. Therefore it is imperative that all previous Lincoln National Life VARIABLE ANNUITY data be processed prior to the effective change date. Than is, make all the necessary changes for the effected Variable Annuity sub-account CUSIPs that need to be changed to the new format before downloading and processing any more Lincoln National Life data files from DST FAN Mail. Upgrading to CDS version 4.1 will prevent this from happening in the future.
If you have any Lincoln National Life Variable Annuities in your Security Master (Vendor Securities), you will need to make changes to your database. To see if you have any Lincoln National Life Variable Annuities in your database please follow these steps:
Go to the CDS Desktop and click on File à Security Master (Vendor Securities). In the Find Security dialog box select Variable Annuities in the ‘Security Type’ field and click on the OK button. This will list all of the Variable Annuities in the database (Please make sure that all Variable Annuity products are listed; Stop-Go button should be grayed out). Sort the NAME column A through Z to list every Variable Annuity product in alphabetic order. If you have any of the Lincoln National Life Variable Annuities please follow the instructions below that pertain to you.
If you do not have any of the effected Lincoln National Life Variable Annuity sub-accounts, NO FURTHER action is necessary.
Select the action that applies to you from the list below and then follow the necessary steps:
CDS 3.2 Users:
1) You need to change the sub-account CUSIP # and your last DST download was before the effective change date.
- All FAN Mail users receiving Lincoln National Life Variable Annuity data "MUST" download and process FAN Mail data up to the effective change date. This is the last time you will receive data with the old CUSIP IDs for the Lincoln National Life Variable Annuity sub-accounts. After processing, you MUST change the affected Lincoln National Life Variable Annuity sub-account CUSIPs to the new CUSIP format prior to downloading again from DST FAN Mail. (Please visit the E-Z Data website to download the required Excel spreadsheets that list the affected Lincoln National Life Variable Annuities sub-accounts and corresponding changes). Important notice: Failure to convert to the new CUSIP format will result in CDS creating new (duplicate) Variable Annuity sub-accounts with the new CUSIP format when you process Lincoln National Life Variable Annuity data following the effective change date.
Or/
- Call DST FAN Mail and request DST to remove the Lincoln National Life data files from the effective change date to the present from your directory. Then download the data and process as usual. Your data will process normally since you requested data up to the effective change date. After you have finished processing the data open Vendor Securities and locate the Variable Annuity sub-accounts that need to be updated. Open the detail screen for the affected VARIABLE ANNUITIES and then click on the List of Portfolio’s tab. Then click on each sub-account that needs CUSIP updates and make the required changes. After this has been completed contact DST FAN Mail and have them re-send ALL of your data for Lincoln National Life from the effective change date to the present. Then download your data and process as normal. Do not worry about duplication of data because TDM will not post duplicate transactions. The posted column on your TDM reports will show Existing for transactions that already exist.
2) You need to change the Sub-Account CUSIP Number and you have already processed your data from the effective change date and later and you no longer have the DST files.
- If you have processed the Lincoln National Life VARIABLE ANNUITY data after the effective change date without making the CUSIP Number changes, CDS created duplicate sub-accounts referencing the NEW CUSIP format. Open Vendor Securities and locate the Lincoln National Life Variable Annuity sub-accounts that were newly created (Duplicates). Once you are able to locate the duplicate sub-accounts, please delete them and make the required changes. Then call DST and ask them to re-send the Lincoln National Life Variable Annuities data from effective change date to the present. Process your files as usual and do not worry about duplication of data because TDM will not post duplicate transactions. The posted column on your TDM reports will show Existing for transaction that already exists.
CDS 4.0 Users:
1) You need to change the Sub-Account CUSIP Number and your last DST download was before the effective change date.
a. Download the data and process as usual. Your data will process normally up to the date of the effective change date. Your database will not be updated with the Lincoln National Life Variable Annuities data processed after the sub-account CUSIP changes. Open the Security Master and locate the Lincoln National Life Variable Annuities that need the sub-account CUSIP updates. Open the detail screen for the Variable Annuity and then click on the List of Sub-Accounts tab. Click on each sub-account record that needs CUSIP Number updates. Re-process the same files. Do not worry about the duplication of data because TDM will not post duplicate transactions. The posted column on your TDM reports will show Existing under the ‘Posted’ column for transactions that already exists.
Or/
b. Call DST FAN Mail and request DST to remove Lincoln National Life files from the effective change date to the present from your directory. Then download the data and process as usual. Your data will process normally since you requested data up to the effective change date. After you have finished processing the data open Security Master and locate the Lincoln National Life Variable Annuities and sub-accounts that need to be updated. Open the detail screen for the effected VARIABLE ANNUITIES and then click on the List of sub-accounts tab. Then click on each sub-account that needs CUSIP updates and make the required changes. After this has been completed contact DST FAN Mail and have them re-send ALL of your data from the effective change date to the present. Then download your data and process as normal. Do not worry about duplication of data because TDM will not post duplicate transactions. The posted column on your TDM reports will show Existing for transactions that already exist.
2) You need to change the Sub-Account CUSIP Number and you have already processed data from the effective change date and later and you no longer have the DST files.
Your downloaded data processed normally up to the effective change date. Your database was not updated with the data processed after the sub-account CUSIP changes. Open Security Master and find the Lincoln National Life Variable Annuity sub-accounts that need CUSIP updates and make the required changes (Please use the spreadsheet that is on our website as a reference). Then call DST and ask them to re-send the Lincoln National Life Variable Annuities data from the effective change date to the present. Process your files as usual. Do not worry about duplication of data because TDM will not post duplicate transactions. The posted column on the Transaction Processing report will show ‘Existing’ for transactions that already exist.
