MOODLE TOPIC RESOURCE OR ACTIVITY / BLACKBOARD FORMAT OR PLACEHOLDERUnit Content
/ The content contained in your Moodle unit is converted into a Content area listed in the Course menu of your Blackboard unit.
This Content area is set as the default landing page for the unit.
Individual Moodle Topics will appear as subfolders in this Content area.
Topic Outline
/ The Topic Outline contained in your Moodle unit (i.e. the very first section of any moodle unit) becomes a folder labelled “0”.
Files that were uploaded into your Moodle Topic Outline will appear as files in this folder.
Note:The Announcements Forum does not get migrated.
Topic Banner
/ The Topic banners contained in your Moodle unit become folders and the Topic Titles become the folder names.
Topic Description
/ If you included a Topic description then the Topic banner becomes a folder . .
. . and the description becomes an item within that folder.
Label
/ A Moodle label is converted into a folder and any text, links and embeds contained in the label becomeattachments.
Folder
/ Whilst content contained within folders in moodle is successfully imported into the Blackboard Content Collection, all association with a particular topic is lost.
An item is created in place of the folder, and all folder content is attached to the item from the Content Collection.
File
/ All moodle file uploads (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, movie files, audio files, zip files, etc.) are converted into an item and the file becomes an attachment to that item.
Link to a website
/ A Moodle URL becomes a two stage Web Link in Blackboard.

Turnitin Assignment
/
A Turnitin Assignment will not be migrated into your Blackboard unit.
An Assignment will appear as a placeholder Assignment object to represent the assignment in the unit. This is designed as a visual reminder that you will need to recreate your Turnitin Assignment Activity within the Blackboard environment.
Forum
/ A Moodle Forum is converted into Blackboard Discussion Board.
The forum description (i.e. instructions) will not migrate.
HTML Block
/ HTML blocks in your Moodle unit will not be migrated into your Blackboard unit.
Assignment
/
An Assignment will appear as a placeholder Assignment object to represent the assignment in the unit. This is designed as a visual reminder that you will need to recreate the Assignment activity within the Blackboard environment.
Quiz / TBA – are quizzes there?

A Moodle Quiz becomes a Blackboard Test.
