  1. Do you support the vision of Cultybraggan Camp as a major visitor attraction, and the feasibility work needed to further evaluate its potential for development?

Group 1. Potential in the development - feasibility needs to be evaluated
2. evidence shows people do use camp, includinglots of people from outside the village
unique resource and should follow up demand for heritage/historical resources
good to keep people employed in village
short-sighted not to explore potential with knock on effects for village
yes everyone round table (four people) agrees to major development option
good community – need to build on thisfor next generation
3. Yes to option 2 (major developments)
have caveat and concern about traffic management inside and outside the camp and parking issues inside the village
think that there is more risk attached not doing it
would like to see the very valuable asset protected and if you don't do it now how can we afford to keep the camp
security would be improved with staff

should act as an umbrella for other people to come forward with their own business ventures which are totally separate from the Trust, for example of community interest Company running the sports facilities or developing the hill ground
need to see the financial information close-up
should be part of a mosaic of developments at the camp

create energy about the project again – generate support and engagement
need more communication about things going on e.g. pottery and shop, new gym – latest on bunker
encourage folk in the village to go to the camp more regularly to see what's going on and much busier activity in the camp – would these be compatible? Also impact on commercial businesses on-site?
More fun, social events e.g. open doors event and Apple day – more in the village too
suggest film – do you know what's happening at cultybraggan (YouTube)
some feeling in group that too soon to make a decision between two options – want to reflect more on information produced, e.g. details in presentations should be made available in post office

  1. What would need to be developed on site, alongside heritage exhibitions, to attract local, national and international visitors and return visits?

2. Main issue is access to the camp - good to help development and encourage people to camp from village

campsite – always get people – caravanning club – conflict? Need to be compatible
things that would attract visitors and people from village – playground/family day out, on-site cafe and themed shop

5. Do these proposals build on the original plans for the guard block? The community was consulted on this and agreed to a specific design. Has this been shelved?

there are needed to be a break away from the past and the camp association with the Nazis
there needed to be more communication with the Community Council

arranging and promoting more events
building up the profile around this project for the village short and long-term
defining how other organisations can take a role
focusing on an event that will attract people, such as Apple day and cinema and open days
with a membership of 600 – how'd you get people involved?
3. Development trust needs to involve the village more, especially with fundraising, e.g. the share issue – could each approach one person and ask to put in £25
5. The workload of the board and CDT staff needs to be spread across more people to prevent burnout
