  1. Requirement Description

Describe the requirement (gap). Include a description of the delivered PeopleSoft functionality.

The Training Specialist must be aware of any special accommodations required by an enrollee in order to ensure that the enrollees of a course will be able to fully benefit from a course. For example an enrollee may have vision problems and may require a special computer screen. The Training Specialist should be aware of this need and request the appropriate equipment for the course. Currently, employees are reminded in the comments section that if they need an accommodation they need to contact the training instructor for arrangements. PeopleSoft as delivered does not offer a field that can be used to indicate accommodations are required for a course session.

Training Specialists must have knowledge of special needs to ensure all enrollees receive equal benefits from the course. This would bring Training Specialists and their agencies in compliance with the 1990 Americans with Disability Act.

The Agency Training Specialist could obtain this information via the Training Request Form or verbally from the employee and make the accommodations, without documenting them in the system.

Option 1. The training request form will include a section to include special accommodations. The Agency Training Specialist enrolling the employee in the course would need to contact the course administrator to ensure the accommodations could be met.
