o Responsibilities: Volunteers will attend clinics and perform the following duties to assist low-income debtors:
§ Preparing answers and asserting defenses to third-party debt collection (junk debt buyer) lawsuits;
§ Protecting exempt income from garnishment;
§ Preparing discovery; and
§ Stopping debt collection harassment
§ Intake and issue spot on these problems
§ Students assist consumers with filling out paperwork, under the supervision of a Bay Area Legal Aid expert consumer law staff attorneys.

· 10/16 and 10/17: Edgewood Center for Children and Families for A Day of Play
o This is a one-day event that will give bay area youth, including those dealing with depression, trauma, and other mental health issues, a day of childhood fun they'll never forget!
o Kids will take part in activities such as mini soccer, kickball, bounce houses, Giant Jenga, yoga, face painting, and many more!! Our teamwill be facilitating a Kick Ball station but there will be other volunteer opportunities as well!!

Community Legal Services of East Palo Alto
● Responsibilities: Assist the CLSEPA "Attorney of the Day" at the San Francisco Immigration Court with surge dockets. Complete intakes and help clients fill out forms.
● Spanish speaking abilities are required
● Training: Volunteers will be required to shadow the intake process.

● Responsibilities: Conducting in-depth interviews of asylum seekers and writing in-depth memoranda of clients' claims and their potential legal theories while screening for other forms of immigration relief.
● Foreign language skills are very desirable. Applicants fluent in Spanish, Arabic, French, and Mandarin are particularly encouraged to volunteer.
● Training: Volunteers will be trained by Lawyers' Committee individually and sit in on at least one interview prior to conduct intakes on their own.
