BridgeWebs – Play It Again Feature

If the hands that were played in an event are uploaded to Bridgewebs then a very useful feature becomes available to facilitate analysis of the hand, e.g. optimum contract, possible/most likely contracts, optimum play of the hand.

This feature is called Bridge Solver Online and it is activated by using a Play it Again option in Bridgewebs.

Having logged on to the club’s web site, select the Results option from the Menu List on the Home screen, then follow these instructions to use Play it Again.

When you click on the Results option, the Results Calendar screen is displayed.

When you see the Deck of Cards symbol, you know the Play it Again feature

is available for that event.

Click on an event to open up the Results screen, Aug 15th pink, for this example.

Clicking on the event, opensup the results Ranking screen, as below.

Click on a pair, to see their individual results, as below.

This screen shows all the results for the selected pair on the left.

On the right, we see the board numbers, the deal for the selected board, board 1 in this case, and the board traveller. You can select any of the board numbers displayed.

The deal section shows, inter alia, the optimum contract, points count and an analysis of the possible/most likely contracts.

We are interested in the Play it again button, just below this deal section.

After selecting the board you want, click on the Play it Again button and the following pop-up screen will be displayed.

This pop-up screen offers various options for the Play it again feature.

(Note, occasionally this screen is by-passed when the system already ‘knows where to go’)

When this screen is displayed, the option we are interested in is the BS Online button.

Click on this button and the Bridge Solver Online screen is displayed, as below.

You can now replay the hand.

The possible/most likely contracts are shown in the bottom right hand corner.

Click on one of the contracts, e.g. 3NT by North, and you're now in play mode.

Bridge Solver now moves to the lead hand, East in this case, and highlights the cards,

as show in this screen.

There is a little number shown on each card, besides the card id itself.

This is the number of tricks that may be made if the card is played.

The cards highlighted in Green show that 4 tricks may be made if 1 of them is played.

The card highlighted in Yellow shows that only 3 tricks may be made, if it is played.

As the lead moves to the next player, appropriate colours and numbers of potential tricks will be displayed.

These are basic instructions, there is more to it, so play away with Play it Again.
