Minutes of the Meeting of the UN[J]GECC at UNHCR[I] Offices,Amman

on the 25th February 2009.

Agenda

1.The proposed Agenda was adopted and the following actions were agreed:

  1. JHCO Update: Due to the absence of N A-K [JHCO] this topic was not discussed; TH [UNRWA] informed the Cell that there were funding issues to be resolved.
  1. Priority/Banned Lists: Latest lists circulated.
  1. Tracking/Weekly Summary Update: WFP/JHCO to progress; JHCO sending dispatch lists with a summarised list of pallet serial numbers per commodity
  1. Flour Exchange:In hand between TH[UNRWA] and MI[WFP]; TH requested UNRWA FPLO[SFO] to arrange for SAR Red Crescent to request WFP SAR to initiate exchange with WFP Jordan.
  1. UNICEF Update: Due to the absence of AR [UNICEF] this topic was not discussed; TH informed the Cell that all truckloads being shipped via JHCO were being counted by COGAT as part of UNRWA Quota and non UNRWA destined shipments were therefore reducing this. UNICEF and UNLC Jerusalem were making arrangement to use some of UNLC quota. Action AR [or replacement] to update GECC.

AR said in her apologies email that she was looking for a Logistics Officer to replace her as a GECC Member. Action AR to nominate and inform GECC

  1. USAID Vs UNLC: GECC noted there had been discussion of USAID setting up separate transport operation but it was agreed that the UNLC should still be the sole point of contact with COGAT.

2.A O B:

Visits: GK [UNRC] informed Meeting that UN Country Team visit the NCSCM would be delayed due to travel requirements UNRC and Country Team activities. TH requested an initial informal visit for the GECC. Action: GK and ID

3.Date & Time of Next Meeting:

The next Meeting will be at the Offices of UNRC at UNUat 09:00 on Wednesday 4th March 2009; it is noted that UA [UNHCR[I]] will away as previously advised.
