LANGUAGE / Our class uses a 5 day language cycle that runs on the same schedule as the school’s day 1-5 cycle. The students are group into 5 balanced language groups. Over the course of the cycle, each of group works through all 5 activities. Essentially, there are 5 distinct language activities going on at the same time in the classroom everyone morning. The groupings allow for a balance of independent work, and small group guided instruction. A more detailed description of this program can be found on our website at the bottom of the homework page. Notes:

-Math: Our class follows same basic concept order for all classes and grades.

-The school has alignedthe math, science, and social studies curriculum across all grade levels. This means you can expect to see a child in grade 1 working on the same math strand as a child in grade 5 at during the same time period (obviously with much different expectations).

Keep in mind that the curriculum is a living document. It changes to meet the need of the students, program, and any special opportunities that come our way.
