POSITION: Long-Term Substitute, Elementary Vocal Music Teacher

Applications are being sought for the position of a Long-Term Substitute, Elementary Vocal Music Teacher at Samuel Bissell Elementary School and George G. Dodge Intermediate School in the Twinsburg City School District. The Twinsburg City School District employs approximately 475 staff members and has one high school, one middle school and three elementary schools. The school district is located in Summit County and is comprised of the City of Twinsburg, Village of Reminderville and Twinsburg Township.
QUALIFICATIONS:
§ Valid Ohio Educator’s License
§ Multi-Age (P-12), Music
§ Experience as a classroom teacher
§ Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and school personnel
§ Strong knowledge of the Fine Arts Academic Content Standards
§ Strong organizational and communication skills
§ A proven track record of student achievement
§ Documented evidence of a clear criminal record
§ Such alternative or additional qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
1. Create effective learning experiences for Vocal Music students at Samuel Bissell Elementary School and George G. Dodge Intermediate School.
2. Ensures that lesson plans align with the District’s adopted Course of Study and Continuous Improvement Plan.
3. Prepare students for Music programs presented to parents and community members.
4. Develop and maintain a positive learning environment. Stimulate student interest.
5. Help parents and students understand academic and behavioral learning goals.
6. Communicate high expectations and show an active interest in student progress.
7. Help students develop critical-thinking, problem solving and creativity skills.
8. Incorporate the use of technology in instruction
9. Analyze student performance data to inform instruction.
10. Collaborate with other teachers in efforts to share knowledge and resources that enhance the educational process.
11. Support an inclusive learning environment. Provide opportunities for students with disabilities.
12. Take precautions to ensure student safety.
13. Strive to be a positive role model for students.
14. Other responsibilities as determined by the building principal.
