Nomination Criteria – Master Thesis

ENPHE master thesis award 2017

Participants

1.  Only an ENPHE member institution can submit one thesis for this competition.

2.  Participation is possible by master students from ENPHE member institutions. The ENPHE institution has to have paid the member fee as stated in the ENPHE charter.

3.  Participants should be aware of the nomination criteria

Master Thesis

·  All master thesis completed between 1 August 2016 and 30 June 2017 will be considered.

·  These include, but are not limited to reviews, research based products, monogram, scientific article and applied research.

·  The thesis can be written in language of origin and/or English.

·  An English abstract (maximum 300 words, without attachments) will need to be submitted for appraisal

- Content of the abstract should include Introduction, Method (including data analyses/statistics), Results, Discussion and Conclusion.

·  In an attachment the list of References of the thesis should be provided.

·  The thesis should not yet have been published outside the institution as an article (in a journal) at the moment of submission.

·  The product should be authentic, which means completely created by master students. Feedback from teachers or other professionals is allowed in the process before the product was submitted for graduation at the institution.

·  The thesis can only be submitted once for this competition.

Content

The following criteria are used to judge the content (see attachment):

1.  Relevancy of the topic to physiotherapy and/or physiotherapy education.

  1. Innovativeness.

3.  Relevancy in an international perspective.

Submission

The application forms A and B should be sent by a representative of the submitting institution; no later than 1 JULY 2017 to the ENPHE Research Group at the following email address:

Submission will be done electronically, asking for an acknowledgment and a read receipt.

The digital submission contains:

·  Name of student, contact details of student including an email address where the student can be contacted after the 1st of July 2017.

·  Name of the institution and the representative and the ENPHE member code.

·  A pdf file of the abstract and the list of references.

·  Use the application forms A and B for submission.

Participants will receive an email confirmation of the receipt of the digital submission. Wrong submissions will not be considered.

Approximately on 15 July 2017 an email will be sent to the top 5 shortlisted candidates.

Before 1 September 2017 the shortlisted candidates should send an email to with:

·  the link to a maximum 3 minute (Youtube) video, in which the candidate pitches the thesis in English,

·  a digital poster of the thesis in JPEG format (with sufficient resolution to enlarge for printed poster) which will be posted on Pinterest in English.

The submitted videos of the shortlisted candidates will be presented to the conference audience and website. The top 5 posters will be published at the conference. All nominees and winners will receive a certificate.

On 21-22-23 September 2017, during the ENPHE Conference in Reykjavik, the final three candidates will be announced.

The winner will receive € 150, de runner up € 100, number three € 50.

The winner will also be asked to become a member of the jury in the subsequent year, be invited as a participant to the conference as well as to hand out the price to the winner of the subsequent year.

Rights

In case of a publication of an article of the presented thesis the ENPHE Research award must be mentioned as: Winner of the ENPHE Master Thesis Award 2017.

The participant waives the organizers from any claims by third parties to author’s rights.

Submitted material will not be returned

The jury will be nominated by the ENPHE research group and motivate the ranking of the winners.
