Fishing Rules GFAA rules will apply t this tournament. Ingham Rod and Reel Club boundaries apply.

Line Class Base Points for Billfish—heavy tackle and light tackle.

Heavy tackle can be used outside prescribe marks (outside of line on chart supplied). While light tackle can be used in the same area as heavy, however heavy cannot be used in light tackle areas. Heavy tackle boundaries are as per supplied chart: Heavy tackle—light tackle boundary as per marked line 146.30°E to Pith Reef to 19.00°S. East of boundary is heavy tackle.

Venue This tournament and all official functions associated with it will be conducted from the Hinchinbrook Channel Inn.

Anglers All competing anglers must be a member of a club affiliated with the QGFA or GFAA Non-members may apply for membership to the INGHAM ROD AND REEL CLUB inc. for $50

Team Size Teams are to be no less than 2 and no more than FOUR anglers.

Entry Fee The entry fee is $60 per junior and $125 per senior. Fee includes meals Friday and Sunday night only at the Hinchinbrook Channel Inn.

Game Species This tournament is open to all recognised salt water game fish species (excluding sharks). Each angler is allowed to weigh a maximum of five fish with no more than two of each species. Fish must weigh half of the line class that they were caught on to be eligible.

Registrations Anglers will be required to register by Friday 5th of August 2016 between 6pm & 8pm.

Fishing times Saturday 7.00am—4.30pm & Sunday 7.00am—3.30pm. Cease fishing will be called by a nominated vessel (As advised in briefing). It is not compulsory for boats to return to Lucinda on Saturday night, however Sunday weigh-in is compulsory at the Hinchinbrook Channel Inn.

Weigh-In times Sunday only from 4.30pm—6.00pm

Presentation The presentations will take place after Sunday dinner

Competitor Safety All competitors must be personally responsible for their own safety at all times. Boat owners must have their own insurance and be responsible for their own safety as well as the safety of those with them.

POINTS

1.Points scoring is governed by GFAA rules

2.All game fish must be half line class or better to be eligible for weighing, or equal to or greater than line class to claim a record. Each angler is allowed to weigh a maximum of five fish with no more than two of each species. Fish must weigh half of the line-class used to capture the fish to be eligible.

3.All billfish to be tagged and released. A bonus 100 points will be awarded for fish previously tagged and a bonus 50 points for any billfish tagged on circle hooks.

4.The formula for calculating points:

Light Tackle

Fish Weight x 100= Points 6kg - 2000 points

Line Class8kg - 1500 points

10kg-1000 points

E.g.12kg x 100 = 200 pointsHeavy Tackle

6kg line 15kg - 2000 points

24kg - 1500 points

37kg - 1000 points

5.All tag cards must be handed in with score sheets

6.All fish must be gilled, gutted and in edible condition. No mutilated fish will be accepted.

7.The weigh master and judges decision is final

8.Reef Species determined by heaviest weight. Reef species must be caught on rod only. No line class. Reef species consists of Red Emperor, Scarlet Sea Perch (Large Mouth), Coral Trout and Red Throat Emperor (Tricky)
