Lana H. Hart
Lana Hart is a Manager at Alabama Gas Corporation, the largest natural gas utility in Alabama which provides clean-burning energy-efficient natural gas to approximately 455,000 customers in central and north Alabama. Lana is responsible for Rate and Tariff maintenance, Rate Stabilization and Equalization/Gas Supply Adjustment, Revenue and volume budgets, Municipal acquisitions, and various monthly, quarterly, and annual Financial and Sarbanes Oxley reporting.
Prior to her current position, Lana Hart served as Assistant Manager of Financial, Controlling and Regulatory Accounting and SAP Payroll Team member. In the Financial Accounting role, Lana was responsible for Accounting, SEC & GAAP compliance, Internal Control, Regulatory Accounting and Cash Management. After just 2 months with Alabama Gas, Lana was assigned to work on the Payroll Team for the Company’s implementation of SAP (Systems, Applications, Products) Human Resource and Payroll modules. Lana’s prior work experience and project implementation background with SAP created the ideal match for this new job opportunity. In her newly assigned role as Payroll Team member, Lana configured the General Ledger posting from the new system, assisted in configuration of the Payroll module, and was the Integration Testing Team Lead. Two years later, Mrs. Hart was promoted to her current position as Manager.
Prior to joining Alabama Gas Corporation, Lana has worked in various areas of Accounting including, Cost Accounting, Financial Accounting, Credit and Profitability Analysis in the Banking and Manufacturing industries.
Lana Hart is involved in the Birmingham Community. She is the newly elected Vice President and immediate past Treasurer of the Birmingham Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy. Lana is a Junior Achievement volunteer and past bowling captain for the annual fundraiser. She is a charter member of the Birmingham Professional Chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants. Lana recently served on the Energen Leadership Association Programs committee. She served as past Community Service Director for the Birmingham Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants and past Community Affairs Director of the National Association of Black Accountants.
Lana earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Alabama State University.
