Family Emergency Food Pack

The family emergency food pack is available to the schools listed below. The food pack contains non-perishable food items that can be used for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pack should sustain a family of four for two days. Larger families can be given an additional food pack.

Please adhere to the following guidelines when assessing the need for the family emergency food pack:

  • Family is facing an emergency (illness, death, accident, sudden loss of job, etc.) that prevents the family from obtaining food.
  • Children in an at-risk situation where adult supervision may be minimal and the well-being of the child is in question.
  • A family can receive only one food pack during the month.

The emergency food packs are not intended to replace the services of the Meridian Food Bank’s food pantry or other local food pantries. Families needing continual food assistance are to be encouraged to visit food pantries on a regular basis. The food packs will contain information on how the family can sign up to receive food from the Meridian Food Bank and a listing of other food pantries in the area.

When additional food packs are needed, the school counselor will request the number of packs desired in an email to . The family emergency food packs will be delivered directly to each school on Thursdays. If there is an immediate need for an emergency food pack, please indicate that need in your email. We will do our best to get the food pack to the school. However, we are only open three days each week. If a school not listed has a need for a family emergency food pack, please contact Molly Smith at the WestAdaSchool District.
