The Week in Review
Monday (10-16-17)
· Homework reminders / reminders of upcoming due dates
· All Levels – PowerPoint Notes – Section Six: A New Nation is Born (Lexington & Concord, the Second Continental Congress, the Declaration of Independence, Defining a “Commonwealth”, the PA Constitution of 1776, the PA Declaration of Rights (PA’s Bill of Rights))
· Honors –– The Declaration of Independence (dramatic reading) & writing prompt (Periods 1 & 3). Period 5 needed to complete the U.S. Constitution writing prompt pre-test.
· Traditional – Introduction – group project - pro-independence propaganda brochures. Students had the option to work alone if they choose to do so.
Tuesday (10-17-17)
· Homework reminders / reminders of upcoming due dates
· No Political Cartoon Analysis Form this week
· Honors – Open Notes Test – The Road from Runnymede DVD – 23 points. Runnymede notes were collected and award 3 points.
· Honors – Continued watching America: The Story of US (Rebels episode – The founding of the nation to events at Lexington and Concord)
· Traditional – Over half of the class was on a CTC field trip today. Remaining students completed a Political Cartoon Analysis Form in class or extra credit.
· Traditional – Students continued to work on pro-independence propaganda brochures
Wednesday (10-18-17)
· Homework reminders / reminders of upcoming due dates
· All Levels – PowerPoint Notes – Section 7: The Articles of Confederation, Shay’s Rebellion
· Honors – finished watching America: The Story of U.S. – collected DVD notes on Thursday (start of class)
· Traditional – Students continued to work on pro-independence propaganda brochures
Thursday (10-19-17)
· Homework reminders / reminders of upcoming due dates
· Honors - Current Event Report form was collected
· All Levels – PowerPoint Notes – The Constitutional Convention (Philadelphia, Virginia Plan, New Jersey Plan, Great Compromise, Federalist, Anti-Federalist)
· Traditional – KWL Chart (Constitution) completed in class + extra credit opportunity
· All Levels - DVD – The Constitution Project (The Constitutional Convention)
Friday (10-20-17)
· Homework reminders / reminders of upcoming due dates
· All Levels – All graded work returned to the students
· Honors – Group Activity – Debating the underpinnings of the U.S. Constitution.
· Traditional – Pro-Independence Propaganda Pamphlet (in-class assignment) - continued

· All Levels – PowerPoint Notes – The Federalist Papers #10 and #51
· All Levels – Unit 2 Essential Questions were collected
· Traditional – All student note packets were collected to be graded for completeness. Teacher versions of the notes (with all of the correct answers) were provided to the students.
· Traditional – Students were provided with the test essay study guide.
· Traditional – Continue to work on propaganda pamphlet
