2 / 45 / Healthy Meadows Goat Grazing / Ivan Thrane / Ivan Thrane will discuss the unique attributes goat grazing can give. His slide show will show the benefits of using goats as a biocontrol method. They not only help reduce noxious weeds but will also clean out the common weeds as well. This method of biocontrol works great in sensitive areas where chemical cannot.

Identify who is responsible for weed control when gravel is transported in. Learn where to go to get information about where gravel is coming from and who has to manage those weeds brought in. How do we enforce weed control when contractors are in our area? Also how do we find out about future road projects?

Selective Control around brush & shelter belts / Tony Marlow, Regional Sales Manager for Alligare Industries / Alligare cover pesticide mixing of wet vs dry formulations. This presentation is designed to make sure applicators are using the correct measurements to ensure label rates are used. He will also cover selective weed control in and around brush and shelter belts.
April 9th
8 / 45 / Biocontrol Updates / John Gaskin, USDA Agriculture Research Service / John Gaskin will give us biocontrol updates from throughout the state. Plus contact information for other biocontrol groups.
9 / 45 / Equipment Maintenance on Spray Trucks / Timm Johannesen ~ Warne Chemical Company / I am going to go over the maintenance items that should be addressed on a daily, weekly, and an annual timeframe. Good maintenance is the best way to prevent costly breakdowns during the spraying season. Will cover centrifugal, roller, piston and 12 volt pumps. Other items covered will include handguns, strainers, Dosatron chemical injectors and other plumbing components. There will be on hand examples of things that that can go wrong with spraying equipment. If the weather permits, a portion of the time will be spent outside with a spray truck.
