FALL 2017

PLEASE DISTRIUTE TO TEACHERS OF GRADES 3 TO 11:

The Conservation Learning Centre (CLC) would once again like to extend an invitation to you to come for a fun, educational tour of our facility. We ask you to kindly distribute this invitation to all grade 3 to 11 teachers within your school division. The CLC is a research and demonstration farm located 18 km south of Prince Albert on Highway #2. The agricultural practices at the Centre focus on conservation of soil, water and wildlife habitat.

Just a reminder that we are now taking bookings for the fall tours at the Conservation Learning Centre. The fall weather is holding out so come out and enjoy our facility

The fall season is full of excitement. Students will experience our mature vegetable garden highlighting where our food comes from and the varieties of food capable of growing here. There will be wheat to sample and local garden vegetables to look

closely at.

If weather is part of their curriculum a visit to the weather station can be included where students learn the important part weather plays in the sustainability of living things

Students will interact with mature plants going into seed and have fun helping the blooming cattails disburse their seeds.

Students will have an opportunity to observe the migrating birds in the wetland area while learning about the impact and importance wetlands have on plants and animals.

Finally, a great way to finish off the day and a fun activity for the students is finding their way through our Great Corn Maze.
