Job Title: Audio Producer

Purpose of job:
To produce a range of audio content to the highest possible production standards, whilst ensuring the efficient running of the RNIB Studios.
Impact:
As part of a team, to assist in the delivery of demanding departmental production output targets. Directing professional narrators in a studio environment and conducting quality control of colleagues work prior to submission.
Financial Responsibility:
To support Studio Manager in delivery against departmental financial targets.
Decision Making Responsibility:
Expected to display effective decision making within own area of responsibility, seeking support where necessary.
Main accountabilities:
1. The recording of audio content in a variety of formats and to defined specifications.
2. To operate a networked digital recording studio and post production equipment, maintaining a production output to meet the targets set for the department.
3. To process audio material from a variety of sources (current and historic) into other digital formats.
4. To direct narrators and produce recording sessions efficiently, maintaining an agreed production standard.
5. To assist in the recruitment, training and development of narrators.
6. To attend various training courses to maintain skills and abilities and to maintain an active interest in the development of technologies and processes related to the production of digital talking books.
7. To occasionally travel to and work from other UK locations with overnight stays.
8. To work within the departmental team and perform any other reasonable duties that ensures the smooth running of Content Services.
General

Person Specification
All criteria are essential unless otherwise stated.
1. Specialist knowledge and experience
1.1 Experience of producing professional actors in a spoken word environment.
1.2 Experience in the use of Digital Audio Workstations.
1.3 Experience of manipulating signal path to achieve optimum quality of sound in a recording studio environment.
Desirable
1.4 Demonstrable interest in literature.
1.5 Experience of using SADiE is desirable.
1.6 Experience of producing audio books is desirable.
