MASS REQUEST INFORMATION
SACRED HEART PARISH - NOTRE DAME, IN
There are no Mass intentions accepted specifically for Masses offered at the Basilica.
There are two options for Mass intentions through Sacred Heart Parish, Notre Dame.
1. Your Mass intention is given to a Holy Cross priest. The date and time of these Masses cannot be specified, but they are acquitted within a reasonable time.
2. Intentions for the Sacred Heart Parish Masses, which are said in the Crypt (below the Basilica), can be scheduled through the Parish Office for specific dates and times. These intentions are listed in the weekly parish bulletin. It may be several months before a Mass intention can be scheduled.
For either option,Mass cards may be requested. Our gold-tone Mass card says has a sketch of the Golden Dome and the Basilica Tower on the front, with “Sacred Heart Parish” below. On the inside:
The card for the deceased reads: “The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the repose of the soul of ______with the sympathy of _____”. It is signed by the pastor, with “Sacred Heart Parish, University of Notre Dame” at the bottom. On the left it says “May Our Lady, Mother of Sorrows, bring you comfort in your grief”
The card for the living reads “The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the intentions of _____ at the request of _____”. As above, it is signed by the pastor, with “Sacred Heart Parish, University of Notre Dame” at the bottom.
Please provide the following information:
-Which option above you would like: #1 or #2
-Name of deceased/living person (please specify which)
-Who is requesting the Mass(as you would like it written on the card, if requesting one)
-Contact information of person making the request(in case the Mass is rescheduled)
-Name and address of the person/family to whom the card is to be mailed.
Checks can be made out to Sacred Heart Parish. (We cannot take credit cards.)
- For Mass only, no card, the customary stipend in our diocese is $10.
- To have a Mass card mailed, please add $5, for a total of $15.
