Potential funding availability for improving grazing groundcover
NED Landcare has applied for funding through the Caring for our Country initiative for specific on-ground projects to improve grazing management and groundcover. If the application is successful, eligible landholders will need to complete projects and have funding paid no later than 30th June 2013. By the time we hear about the success/failure of this funding application, it may be that only 8 to 10 months will remain for projects to be approved and completed by June 30th.
This form is being circulated to all NED Landcare group members prior to announcements of successful applications in order to provide NED Landcare with an indication of the potential range of on-ground projects, for this project (if it is funded), or for other future projects that may be developed.
Due to the limited funding that may be available only projects that meet a strict eligibility criteria, are cost effective, and contribute substantially to the objectives of the project, will be funded. This will be done through an on-property assessment, including property planning advice and technical assistance, and a review of all applications by a NED Landcare assessment panel. There will be a series of workshops on grazing management and pasture cropping to help you build more value into your on-ground projects.
Eligible project activities are outlined in the table below.
Eligible activity / Incentive funding contributionsModify machinery to build a pasture cropping planter / 40% of cash cost, up to maximum funding of $2,000 per machine
Internal fencing to improve grazing management by enabling a rotational grazing system / 50% of cash costs, up to maximum funding of $750 per kilometre
Establish new water points to improve grazing management and reduce tracking/erosion / 50% of cash costs, up to maximum funding of $500 per water point
If you are interested in being involved, please provide your details and return the form as soon as possible.
