Minutes for
July 21, 2009
ATTENDENCE: Donna Bokar, Phil Bokar, Bob Coleman, Diane Coleman, Ellen Fetter, Nina Fetter, Robert Fetter, Dianna Hampton, John Hampton, Yasuko Harr, Deb Howbert, Chris Kirby, Ron Klopfenstein, Lori Klopfenstein, Deenie Morris, Jim Morris, Jeannie Maurer, Rod Ott, Suzie Schoen, Tony Smith, Susan Smith, Laurie Temple.
CALL TO ORDER: President Deenie Morris called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM. There were training classes held at 6:30 PM.
SECRETARY: Suzie made a motion to accept the minutes as printed. Laurie seconded the motion. Passed.
TREASURER: Lori made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report as printed. Deb seconded the motion. Passed.
DELEGATE: Rod gave the delegate’s report. AKC is requesting information from all member clubs, so that when
new people resister their puppies, they can forward information on area kennel club that are available.
AKC is forming a Canine Health Welfare Panel to help protect dogs.
Remember it is important for everyone to write letters for the house and senate bills, it needs to be communicated. There needs to be letters sent to each and everyone of them. I encourage everyone to write letters, if you need addresses I can give them to you.
What does the club want me to vote on the division of the groups into ten groups? Club says vote “NO”.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Phil on Responsible Ownership Day – is to be held on September 12, 2009. I need help with the meet the breeds and there is a sign- up sheet in lunch room. I also have information that we can put up on board for the public to be more aware of pamphlets provided by AKC. Suzie will organize that for Phil. Remember call and get samples from our dog food companies, get demonstrations, face painting, and various activities.
Deenie wants to “Thank” everyone that helped at the show. She thought it went well.
Ellen says we can still get trophies in for November 2009. Everything is on schedule with the show. We do have a new vendor chairman – Roger Gifford. We will give him input on Whitman Sharpening and Doggie Lodge.
We are meeting with Ann Keil for the new layout on September 15, 2009 in Columbus.

We received a letter From AKC Canine Health Foundation thanking us four our $1,000.00 donation.
READINGS: Christina Kirby has her third reading tonight. The membership voted and Christina is our newest member. Welcome to our club.
OLD BUSINESS: Discussion on vendors and the information should be provided to Roger. We discussed the arm band drawing for the November show. We offered it to Dayton and Columbus clubs, but have not heard back from them. We changed that you must be present and the drawing will be before the group judging. We discussed making sure we have a wash/ bath tub at the November show.
NEW BUSINESS: We discussed additions that need added to the camper parking form. You must arrive by 9:00 AM on Saturday or notify us is your arriving late or your spot will be resold. You can add Nina’s email if you want.
Also, we need signs for no dumping before Groups on Sunday and it should be put on the hand out for motor homes. M & M concessions would like to know if he can get a 220 twist electric put in by his food vendor.
We will put Steve in touch with him and they can work it out. If Stites do not want to come back, Jack (Otterhound) said he would have to have time to make adjustments for our health department requirements.
BRAGS:
Christina – Her Gordon Setter Carly had puppies the day of our show. She had 4 boys and 4 girls, ended up with a c-section two 24 ounce puppies were holding everything up.
Tony – Jenna (Bullmastiff) went Winners Bitch for one point at Lima and the next day Sandusky with unsupervised
He went Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite over one Bitch special.
Donna – Zircon (Borzoi) at Dayton KC 12 -18 Puppy dog class took Winners dog, best of Winners, and best of opposite for 3 point major, judge Roger Hartinger. Lima Kennel Club under Judge Anthony Gutilla took reserve winners dog to a major.
Ron – Ben (Bulldog) went Winners dog at Monroe KC on Saturday. Storm (Bulldog) went winners dog and Best of Breed on Sunday, but lost his mind in the group
PICNIC: Tuesday, August 18th, 2009 - Time 6:30 PM (No classes)
Club will provide meat and drinks. Everyone should bring a covered dish.
A motion was by Jim for the picnic. Tony seconded the motion. Passed.
