The scientific name for sunflower is Helianthus.

Sunflowers are many different shades of yellow.
A sunflower can grow up to 1.5m tall.
The sunflower is one of the fastest growing plantsand takes from 90 to 100 days to grow from planting to maturity.
The flower head moves throughout the day as it tracks the sun.
Sunflowers like to grow in well drained soil with a lot of sunlight and need watering regularly.
