GRACE PRAYER WATCH

Week Beginning – August 22, 2016

DAY 1:

[PRAISE]

Daniel 12:3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

The Wise Will Shine

The wise will shine always.

The wise will shine like the

brightness that heaven shows

every day and all the way.

Those who are wise can lead

others to righteousness and

to kneel at Jesus’ feet.

We all want to be wise,

but everyone is not …

For the wise lead others to Heaven.

The wise will shine always.

DAY 2:

[THANKSGIVING]

1 Chronicles 29:10-13

David praised theLORDin the presence of the whole assembly, saying,

“Praise be to you,LORD,
the God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Yours,LORD, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours,LORD, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honorcome from you;
you are the rulerof all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.

Father God, we give You thanks and praise Your glorious name. Thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You for Your great power and we bow in submission to Your greatness, glory, majesty, and splendor. We are thankful that You are head over all. You are our Creator and our Ruler. Thank You that in Your hands alone are strength and power. We give You thanks. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

DAY 3:

[CONFESSION]

Jeremiah 17:5This is what the LORD says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD.”

Holy Father, forgive me for trusting in myself! So many times I just plow through life and make my own decisions and say things I think will help when, in reality, I am doing life my own way and not depending on You. Forgive me for thinking, doing, and saying anything that is not directed by Your Holy Spirit. Remind me when I am blatantly looking to another person or activity to take Your rightful place as Lord of my Life. Help me to have eyes to see when I am trusting me for what only You have the right to be and do in my life. Thanks for forgiveness and cleansing and the direction of Your Holy Spirit, moment by moment. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

DAY 4:

[INTERCESSION]

Psalm 20:7Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

Heavenly Father, we pray for President Obama, each member of Congress, and our Supreme Court of America to not trust in personal strength and their own power but to rather trust in You. Let each leader and political servant look to You for wisdom and strength to fulfill their duties. May each one be willing to set aside personal ambition to search Your Holy Word for direction and help. Place godlyadviserswith influence in the path of our national leaders and give them credibility to share You. We pray for the lifting up of the name of the LORD our God in America. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

DAY 5:

[INTERCESSION]

Luke 10:36-37“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him,“Go and do likewise.”

Father, may each one at Grace Christian Fellowship seek to fulfill Jesus’ command to “go and do likewise”; that is, to love our neighbor. We agree that the opportunity to love may be unexpected, will require caring compassion, may require time and effort, could include a cost, and very likely will involve our on-going involvement. But Father, You have richly and graciously loved each one of us. And we want to love others – neighbors, friends, coworkers, family, the person at grocery store or begging on the street corner – like You have loved us. Let each one be willing and ready to love. Let us be the Body of Christ in the place You have called us to be. Let us love. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

WEEKEND PRAYER FOR OUR PASTOR:

Romans 15:9-12:

As it is written:

“Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles;
I will sing the praises of your name.”

Again, it says,

“Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.”

And again,

“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles;
let all the peoples extol him.”

And again, Isaiah says,

“The Root of Jessewill spring up,
one who will arise to rule over the nations;
in him the Gentiles will hope.”

Scripture prayer using Romans 15:5-6,13:

Father, grant Grace endurance and encouragement and a spirit of unity as we follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth we may glory our God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Grant also that our pastor, David, might be filled with all joy and peace as he trusts in You, so that he may overflow with hope by the power of Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
