Alt-Textbooks
Grad students needed for helping the Writing Program textbook adjacent
No pay, but cv line
Proposals 6 of them, WP needs committee from Lecturers and GTAs to read through those alternative textbooks
Dept Meeting
Starting next year - ENG is going through APR process.
College of SBS is due for major budget cuts. Will likely have repercussions on hiring.
Undergraduate major proposals
None are going through. “How do we get more English majors?” but are keeping things exactly the same.
Writing Program
19 course cap is staying. Only staying for the next year as a guarantee, but we’re going to have to see how it goes for the year after that.
Lecturer Voting Rights
Awarded voting rights. Question is what they can vote on. Thoughts on how this can impact Grad students voting rights.
Appropriate Use of Email
Discussion of “appropriate use of email.”In context of faculty behaving poorly.“How do we hold people accountable” so that doesn’t happen. Talk of having a cultural commitment - something written down .Pushback against code of conduct, but would be useful to us as grad. students. Making sure that there are steps in place to report how faculty are behaving is making us feel uncomfortable.
If not a reporting process, then a workflow - who do we go to in order to speak about this?
LitShop
Runs at the same time as EGU meetings. Figuring out possible rescheduling?
Update
Have two meetings left

(from Call)
Will discuss this issue more with Susan and others.
