Dear Subrecipient:
This is a follow-up to the letter dated December 13, 2013, where the new Federal Transit Administration (FTA) compliance rules were outlined. To summarize, FTA now requires that all direct recipients (i.e., California Department of Transportation - Caltrans) document their compliance by submitting a Title VI Plan to FTA every three years. Additionally, subrecipients are now required to submit their Title VI Plan to Caltrans, which serves to support the State’s compliance with the new FTA requirements. Caltrans will review and certify that the Plan meets FTA requirements. For additional information, please see the FTA Circular 4702.1B. The Circular can be downloaded at:
In that letter, we advised that the Division of Mass Transportation will be conducting a series of training sessions to assist subrecipients in preparing that Plan. There are five (5) sessions that are available for your participation. Additional workshops may be held if a need is determined.
