Job PurposeTo provide management of the lunchtime session each day including full organisation and line management of Midday Supervisors.
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Being responsible to the Headteacher for the organisation of lunchtime supervision for the school. The management of Midday Supervisors and any issues over pay and conditions.
- To provide advice and assistance to Midday Supervisors in carrying out their duties and when necessary refer any serious difficulties to the Headteacher.
- To report staff absence to the Headteacher and organise appropriate cover.
- Being responsible to the Headteacher for the supervision of children throughout the midday break (i.e. the interval between the close of morning lessons and the recommencement of lessons in the afternoon).
- The supervision of queues waiting to enter the dining hall.
- The supervision of the dining hall and all areas both inside and outside where pupils congregate during lunch time.
- To help to make the lunch time discipline as efficient as possible. Liaison with staff on Detention Duty.
- To deal with minor problems and report persistent unruly behaviour to the Headteacher.
- To organise First Aid to deal with minor accidents and report any serious incidents to the Headteacher immediately.
- To organise the completion of letters to parents informing them of any head injuries. Liaise with School Secretary/Office Manager with regard to First Aid resources. (N.B. Access to First Aid resources and a telephone will be available).
- To maintain close liaison with the Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher in respect of all issues concerning lunchtimes at school.

Each daily session will comprise of the whole lunch break.
There will be an obligation for you to remain on site unless otherwise directed by the Headteacher.
