Your total points earned x 100 = Your average %
Total possible points
Computer printouts of your grades will be posted periodically in addition to the official progress report each marking period. The grading scale set by the school will be followed:
A(93-100) B+(87-89) C+(77-79) D+(67-69) E(63 and below)
A-(90-92) B(83-86) C(73-76) D(64-66)
B-(80-82) C-(70-72)
HOMEWORK
Homework will primarily be observing the night sky and completing current event summaries. Check the chalkboard for your assignment. All homework is due when the class next meets. NO LATE HOMEWORK IS ACCEPTED (This does not apply to absences which are discussed below). Homework and other announcements will also be posted on my web site.
ABSENCES
If you are absent, it is your responsibility to pick-up make-up work from the class folder, complete it, and return it the following class day. Students are expected to make up a missed quiz or test within five (5) school days of the absence. Tests can be made up (prior approval needed) during your study block or after school in Room 701.
DISCIPLINE
Detention will be served for the 2nd unexcused tardy each 9 weeks or failure to follow other class rules or procedures. Failure to serve detention, accumulation of 3 or more tardies each 9 weeks, or disruptive behavior will result in a referral to the office.
