The Open Flow Energy “Energy for the Arts” Grant program is designed to provide critical support needed to sustain local, school-based competitive arts programs. Five (5) “Energy for the Arts” grants in the amount of $1,000 each will be awarded lottery-style to qualified applicants selected at random.
Rules and Guidelines for “Energy for The Arts” Grants
Eligible Applicants
· School-based art programs serving any or all children grades K-12 in the Greater DuBois, PA area.
· Funds must be used to support competitive arts.
· Sponsor acknowledgements are appreciated, including signage, check presentations, etc.
· A winning applicant may not reapply the year after they have received funding.
Examples of Competitive Arts
· A school chorus that competes either in Pennsylvania or out of state.
· A school dance group that performs a routine for a prize or award.
· A student sculptor who displays their art work and is judged against other students in a competition.
These are just a few examples of “competitive” arts. Funding can be used for travel, uniforms, music, supplies, etc.
Non-Eligible Programs
· Individual artists of any age may not apply.
· Programs or organizations that do not directly serve school aged children are not eligible.
· Programs or organizations that are not associated with a local school are not eligible.
All applications are subject to approval by Community Relations staff. All qualified applications will then be entered into a lottery-style drawing. Grant recipients will be drawn at random with the first 5 applications selected to receive funding.
