Yorkshire estate, deeds, estate papers and manor records - ref. WLS/LXVI/1-228

This box relates wholly to part of the Yorkshire estate of the family of Frankland of Thirkleby, which came to the de Grey family following the marriage of Augusta Louisa, eldest daughter of Sir Robert Frankland-Russell to Thomas, 5th Lord Walsingham, in 1842. It was never seen and set in order by Crabbe and in fact the documents were found to be in completely miscellaneous bundles of the late 19th century. With the exception of one or two small original bundles, they have been resorted.
