Voicemail for Users without a Dedicated Phone (faculty)

Setting up your Mailbox

The first time you use your mailbox, you must “personalize” it using the following steps:

Changing your password, Recording your name & Recording your greeting.

Logging In

Lift Handset

Press * # # (voicemail answers)

Press * (to tell the system you are calling from a phone other than yours)

Enter your default password (your default password is your 4-digit extension)

Press the # key

Log In (from outside)

Dial 732-946-1899

Dial # (to tell the system you have a mailbox on the system)

Enter your mailbox number (extension number)

Enter your default password (your default password is your 4 digit extension)

Change Your Password

Follow prompts to change your password to a new password that is at least 4-digits long.

YOUR PASSWORD CANNOT BE:

- your mailbox extension

- same numbers (e.g. 33333)

- sequential numbers (e.g. 23456)

Record Your Name

Follow prompts to record your first and last name.

Record Your Greeting

Follow prompts to select either a standard greeting or to record your own personal greeting.

Enter your password

Press the # key

Log In (from outside)

Dial 732-946-1899

Dial # (to tell the system you have a mailbox on the system)

Enter your mailbox number (extension number)

Reviewing your Messages

After logging into Voicemail. The system tells you how many messages are in your mailbox. The messages are heard in the following order; Urgent, Non-Urgent, Skipped, Archived.

To listen to your messages:

1 1 - to play new messages

3 3 - skips to end of message

# - skips to next message

# # - skips to saved messages

After message has been completed:

4 - Replay the message

5 - Envelope Information

(Time and Date information)

6 - Send Copy

7 - Erase

8 - Reply

9 - Save

Sending Messages

You may record and send messages to other voice mail users.

After Logging into Voicemail:

Press 2 to Send

At the tone, record message

Press # when done recording

(Press 1 to replay your message)

Enter extension number to receive message (enter Delivery Options if applicable)

Press # to send the message

Enter next extension if sending message to multiple people.

Personal Options

Press 4 from the main menu to change your personal options.

(15 lists with up to 25 extensions per list)

2 - Extended Absence Greeting

3 – Name

Tips and Hints

Always follow voice prompts.

To access your mailbox from another phone in the system Press *## to enter VoiceMail.

Press * to tell the system you want a mailbox (other than the phone your on)

Press * to cancel a selection, back up, or disconnect.

Sample Scripts

You have reached the voicemail box of “your name”; I am unavailable to take your call at this time. However your call is important to me. Please leave your name, number and a brief message, I will return your call as soon as possible. Thank you and have a good day!

You may want to include other information:

If you are calling to report an early dismissal, please contact the main office @ 732-XXX-XXXX.

I return my calls between the hours of 2:00-4:00pm, please leave a number where you can be reached at during that time.
