The Georgia STEM Forum is an event that brings CTAE, math, and science teachers and administrators together to learn and share in STEM exceptional practices. Over the course of two days participants will engage in hands-on break-out sessions from Georgia STEM Certified schools and programs, teachers implementing STEM practices and activities, visit STEM exhibitors, hear keynote speakers and a panel of STEM students. The 2015 Forum will provide opportunities for teachers and administrators to win grantsand experience a Maker Space.

Career, Technical and Agricultural Educators and Administrators (Middle and High School)
Science Teachers and Administrators (Elementary, Middle, and High School) Math Teachers and Administrators (Elementary, Middle, and High School)
*If middle and high school teachers come as a team of math, science, and CTAE, then CTAE funds can pay for the conference.

Dr. Cindy Mossis the Director of Global STEM Education Initiatives atDiscovery Education. Discovery Education transforms classrooms, empowers teachers and captivates students by leading the way in providing high quality, dynamic, digital content to school districts large and small, rural and suburban and everything in between. Dr. Moss taught high school biology and chemistry for 20 years, then led the district STEM education initiatives in Charlotte NC for 9 years. As the Director of Global STEM Education Initiatives, she works with school districts, companies, nonprofits and governments to provide tools, experiences and professional development to teachers so that they can provide high quality, engaging STEM teaching and learning to their students.

Science Week 2016
This announcement is to inform you about Science Week 2016 which will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) in Atlanta from Thursday, March 5 to the 10th, 2016. Science Week (SW) is sponsored by the Pittsburgh Conference, a Pennsylvania Educational non-profit corporation which is managed by volunteers from Pittsburgh and the surrounding area. On an annual basis the conference presents a trade show known as Pittcon® ( which is the world’s largest annual premier conference and exposition on laboratory science. Pittcon attracts more than 16,000 attendees from industry, academia and government from over 90 countries worldwide. One of the most popular programs held during the Conference is Science week. SW is an educational outreach program for teachers from K to 12 and for students from grades 4 to 12.
For the students from grade 4 to 7 there are student workshops from Monday to Wednesday from 9:30 to 12:30 March 7, 8 and 9. There will be six hands-on workshops. Students will participate in an exciting process of experimentation and discovery. These action-packed workshops will include experimentation with gases, acid/base reactions and astronomy, learning science through the use of toys, electricity, and a passion for polymers. For further information and a workshop description and to register for the workshops you need to go to . I would suggest that teachers register as soon as possible, because only a limited number of students can be accommodated.
For students in grades 8 through 12 there is a lecture/demonstration to be presented by Bob Becker from Kirkland HS in Kirkland, MO. Bob is a nationally recognized science lecturer and demonstrator. For further information and to register for this event teachers need to go to
For teachers from K to 12 there are 20 top-notch workshops.There is a onetime registration fee of $20 and provided parking if registered by January 29th. After the 29th the registration fee is $30 and parking needs to be paid by the teacher, although it will be reimbursed at a discounted rate with a receipt. Lunch will be provided if the teacher attends both morning and afternoon workshops on the same day.Also by taking the workshop the school of the attending teacher(s) is eligible for equipment grants that can range from $500 to $1,000. Cell Day 2015
Enrich your cell biology or biochemistry curriculum by having your classes join Cell Day 2015 on Thursday, November 5, anytime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Eastern time. During this free Web chat, your middle or high school students can get real-time answers to their questions about cell biology, biochemistry and research careers from scientists at the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of General Medical Sciences.
Last year, Cell Day scientists fielded questions like “How many cells are there in the body?” and “How do scientists study cells?”
