SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION PACKET

Eligibility

1. Applicant must be a current member of PMCC or a child, grandchild or spouse of a current member.A current members is one who has paid the full annual dues of $25 by the deadline of January15th.

2. Applicant must be a:

a. High school senior on schedule to graduate or to receive a GED during the year in which thescholarship is awarded and enrolling in a vocational/technical school, college or university during thesame year; -OR

b. High school graduate or GED holder enrolling in a vocational/technical school, college oruniversity during the same year; -OR

c. College graduate entering a post-graduate program during the same year.

3. Applicant must be pursuing their first 2– to 4– year degree or their first post-graduate degree.

4. The previous year’s scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply for the current year.

Applicant Package

Complete application package must contain the following:

1. Completed PMCC Scholarship Application Form.

2. Official transcripts from the applicant’s high school or college, or their GED certificate.

3. Letter of recommendation from someone who can substantiate applicant’s academic accomplishments,ethical standards or volunteer contributions. Letters submitted by family members will notbe accepted.

4. A 500-word essay on the topic provided on the application form. Essay should be typed using 12-fontand double spaced.

Recognition

PMCC will award at least one (1) $500 scholarship. The scholarships are for a single year and are non-renewable.Winners will be notified by mail no later than April 1 and be invited to the PMCC AprilLuncheon. Scholarship monies will be sent directly to the recipient’s selected institution upon confirmationof the recipient's enrollment.

Deadline

Applications must be postmarked NO LATER THAN March 23, 2016 to be considered by the selectionpanel. Any applications deemed incomplete or received after this date will not be considered for selection. Noapplications will be accepted by e-mail or hand delivery. All documents should be placed in one envelopeand mailed to:
