  • To enable students to develop knowledge, skills and behaviours that facilitatesmulti-professional learning, supervision and assessment of students in health and social care settings.
Level 7
  • To enable students to develop and enhance their knowledge, skills and behaviours in facilitating multi-professional learning and to influence work based learning environments through professional and clinical engagement.

Teaching and Learning Methods
Taught module
Lectures with small group discussion to facilitate debate and analysis of knowledge skills and behaviour. The workshops will enable the exploration of theory in relation to the students’ personal practice experiences. Tutorials and formative assessment.
In addition the module will be supported by e-learn – students will engage with this to access learning materials, supporting directed reading and study, access to blogs and chat rooms.
e.learn module
Structured use of chat rooms for synchronised discussion and support on a regular basis, supported by blogs on key module themes. Students will be encouraged to access on line learning packages, explore the web and read appropriately. Adobe reader technology will be used to supplement presentations and teaching materials.
Tutorials and formative assessments will be used to support the module.

15.Personal Development Planning
Students will set a learning contract with their identified appropriately qualified mentor/practice supervisorin order to achieve competence in supporting learning in practice. This process will enable students to identify personal and professional learning needs by setting goals, implementing their action plan, monitoring and reviewing their progress towards agreed goals.
Students are encouraged to develop skills of reflection on their academic, personal and professional development as they progress through this programme.
Students will further develop their IT and searching skills by utilising the on-line Managed Learning Environment materials.
Personal Tutor support – individual appointments and via email and telephone contact.
Group support via taught University days and discussion board on eLearn
University support through the ‘i’ and student services which is available to all UCLan students.
16.Admissions criteria
Programme Specifications include minimum entry requirements, including academic qualifications, together with appropriate experience and skills required for entry to study. These criteria may be expressed as a range rather than a specific grade. Amendments to entry requirements may have been made after these documents were published and you should consult the University’s website for the most up to date information.
Students will be informed of their personal minimum entry criteria in their offer letter.
  • Applicants must be working throughout the duration of the programme as a practitioner in a relevant post within a relevant professional setting
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 12 months post-qualifying experience
  • Evidence of contributing to the facilitation, supervision and assessment of learning
  • Have access to students who are undertaking pre-registration / higher education programme
  • Demonstrate an ability to study at the appropriate academic level
  • Support from line manager to undertake the course, access students and to negotiate protected learning time in practice
  • All applicants must have identified an appropriately qualifiedmentor/practice supervisor who has agreed to, supervise, support and assess in the practice learning environment.
