The staff and students of SKC would like to welcome John VanDyke as new Principal.
Mr. VanDyke will be starting at SKC in September.
The staff of SKC would like to extend congratulations and well wishes to Mr. Paul Sullivan, Mrs. Anne Hawkins and Mr. Ray Sharkey on their retirements. We really appreciate all of the hard work and dedication that each of you have put into SKC over the years.

Wellness Grants up to $5000 P.E.I’s three-year Wellness strategy is based on five priority areas to improve wellness: mental health, physical activity, healthy eating, living tobacco-free and consuming alcohol responsibly. Wellness grants of up to $5,000 are now being made available to not-for-profit and non-government organizations, municipal communities, post-secondary educational institutions, Home and School Associations and community groups. 5. 2015 School Bus Driver of the Year Awards The Prince Edward Island Home and School Federation will present two School Board Driver Awards in June, one to a bus driver in the Eastern School region and a second in the Western School region.

The Northumberland Fisheries Festival will be taking place July 23-26, 2015! Join us for our parade on July 23, and contact us and take part in one of our events! The Youth Showcase Concert is looking for kids who like to show off their talents, the Miss. Northumberland Pageant is looking for girls ages 14-18 to take part, and we are accepting individual and team registrations for our Ball Hockey Tournament for all minor hockey ages! The Young Millionaires Program is accepting applications from students ages 8- 16 interested in learning about entrepreneurship and operating their own summer business. Participants will attend 3 workshops during the month of June and become eligible to receive a non-repayable grant of up to $100.00 to help get their business started. There will be a final workshop at the end of the summer, followed by a celebration ceremony. Participants are encouraged to attend several group selling events, but will work independently on their business throughout the summer. Canadian Red Cross – Summer Water Safety Day Camps: Our day camp program is unique to PEI and provides your child with 1 level of swimming lessons and depending on the age they can participate in either: Outdoor Adventure Club (OAC) - Healthy lifestyle & Nature appreciation or Small Water Craft program – Rowing & Canoeing. The Water Safety day camps will be held at different locations across PEI throughout the summer. Locations included this summer are Charlottetown, Stratford, Tignish, Summerside, O’Leary, Souris, Marco Polo Land, Twin Shores,Seal Cove, Panmure Island and Victoria by the Sea. Transportation at various pick up points for some camp locations is included in registration! Camps fill up quickly so remember to register early via phone, Community Registration days or at our Red Cross office at 29 Paramount Dr. St., Charlottetown.
