American Sign Language
Purpose of club:
American Sign Language club is open to anyone who is currently enrolled in ASL, has already taken ASL or signs fluently. The ASL club tries to get involved with the high school activities as well as the middle schools and elementary schools in our area. We interact with deaf students around the area and try to make them feel more welcome. When you join the ASL club you will not only make new friends and have an awesome time, but also learn more about American Sign Language and the deaf community.

Purpose of club:
The Anime & Manga club is to teach kids about different anime & manga. Members will draw and watch anime. They will also be learning about cosplay, but mainly having fun!

The Kingwood Mighty Military Marching Band is recognized for its excellence on the state and national levels. Band students perform during marching season as well as competing in a variety of contests during concert season. The band holds after school practices every day during marching season and practices once a week during concert season

Beta Club
Purpose of club:
The National Beta Club is a leadership-service organization that has been at KHS since 1995. Membership is open to all students with a minimum GPA of 3.75. Members earn service points, attend meetings, pay the necessary dues, and attend the induction ceremony in the spring. Seniors in good standing are eligible to wear the black and gold honor cords at graduation.

Choir
Purpose of club:
The KHS Choir exists to foster an appreciation of music and singing in those students enrolled in a choir class. Students have the opportunity to audition for higher level choirs and extra-curricular ensembles near the end of each school year. The choir performs numerous concerts during the year and participates in the All-State choir audition process, as well as competing in UIL contests in the spring. The choir is very active in the Kingwood community and will occasionally perform in more exotic places like New York, Orlando, London, etc. The choir also puts on the annual pop schow each year as well as a major works concert, featuring an extended work of one kind or another. They also host a variety of social events for choir members including singing the national anthem at an Astro's game most years.

Diamond Girls
Purpose of club:
The Kingwood High School Diamond Girls organization is open to all 9th-12th grade girls who are interested in supporting the Kingwood High School Varsity baseball team. If we have enough Diamond Girls, we may be able to also support the sub-varsity baseball teams. We meet during baseball season to decorate the locker room, decorate boys' lockers, make signs for the games, provide game day goodies and to cheer the players on at the games. Our first meeting of the year will be in late November or early December to design and order Diamond Girl shirts, discuss responsibilities and requirements etc. Once baseball team tryouts take place in early spring, more information will follow. Meetings will be announced for several days on the morning announcements and I have a neon sign in my office window, 4300, that announces meetings and Diamond Girls events.

Drama Club
Purpose of club:
The theater department is pleased to sponsor the drama club at Kingwood High School. The drama club is purely a social organization and no involvement in extracurricular theatre or enrollment in a theatre class is necessary. The drama club's goal is to promote camaraderie, fun and service through the organization of approximately one major event each month. Meetings are held in the auditorium on various Thursdays throughout the school year. Stay tuned to the announcements as the year progresses. Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Purpose of club:
Membership in the FCA is open to everyone, with the exception that the officers must be athletes. The FCA Mission is “To present to athletes and coaches and all they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord, serving him in their relationship and in the fellowship of the church.” The KHS FCA continues to maintain the excellent reputation and high Christian standard for which the organization is noted. FCA members participate in service projects such as: food baskets for the less fortunate, visiting senior citizen homes, and other service minded endeavors.

Purpose of club:
The mission of the Kingwood FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success. The Kingwood FFA Chapter has been ranked among some of the top chapters in the National FFA Organization. The chapter has many members and is increasing each year. The two FFA advisors, along with the FFA officers, motivate and lead the chapter. Whether it's with animal projects, leadership teams or career development teams, the Kingwood FFA strives for perfection.

French Club
Purpose of club:
Le Cercle Français, or French Club, is dedicated to learning about francophone culture and sharing the knowledge within the Kingwood Community. Activities include: Fundraiser, National French Week in November, MFAH visit and Melting Pot fondue, International Christmas party, Secret Santa, soccer, National French Test , Symposium, and High School Night out at the Opera. We also have an annual banquet (in late April-early May).

Health Occupations Students of America---HOSA
Purpose of club:
HOSA is an organization of student activities relating to Health Occupations Education and is designed to develop future leaders for the health care delivery system. HOSA is endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science division of the ACTE. HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, community service, competitive events and recognition exclusively for secondary, post secondary, and adult alumni members. HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.

The Key Club is an international organization devoted to helping others. It is affiliated with the Kiwanis (adults). Lacrosse
Purpose of club:
Kingwood Lacrosse was started in 1992. Since 2004, the club has attracted more than seventy young men each year, and is currently the 3rd largest athletic team at KHS. We offer both fall and spring programs, with emphasis in the fall for development of lacrosse skills and participate in several tournaments. The spring season starts in early January and runs through April, culminating in district/state championships. Information about the club can be found at our website, as well as listening for daily announcements for information during registration periods. Although KWLAX is officially a club sport and isn't recognized as a UIL sport, the club adheres to all UIL rules and guidelines. However, the club doesn't receive any district funding and all equipment must be provided by the individual player.

Purpose of club:
The Kingwood Courier is the student magazine at KHS. It is produced and distributed by students on the magazine staff. To become a member of the magazine staff, a student must complete Journalism 1 or photojournalism and be interviewed by the advisor. Staff positions are announced in the spring and positions are filled by the end of April each year.

Mu Alpha Theta
Purpose of club:
The Mu Alpha Theta Club promotes scholarship in, and enjoyment and understanding in math among high school students. To be available for full membership, new members must have an 85 average in at least two prior math classes (Algerbra I and higher) and current enrollment in a math class. Associate members must have an 85 average in one prior math class ( Algebra I and higher).

To be considered for induction into the National Honour Society, students must have completed a full semester in Humble I.S.D., achieved a cumulative GPA of 4.0, (with no rounding) maintained conduct satisfactory to the Faculty Council, and demonstrated excellence in leadership, service, and character. Purpose of club:
The KHS orchestra is a rapidly growing program at Kingwood High School. Students must be enrolled in orchestra courses to be a member of the program. In addition to contests at many levels, the KHS orchestra regularly performs in concerts for the public, participates in the Homecoming Parade and is involved in other activities in the school and community.

Spanish Club
Purpose of club:
The KHS Spanish Club, el Circulo Espanol, is an organization of students who are interested in promoting and experiencing the culture of the Spanish speaking world. Meetings are held on Wednesdays at 7:00 a.m. in room 4304. Some of the activities that the club participates in are attending cultural Hispanic events throughout the city and participating in activities with other language clubs. El Circulo Espanol also endeavors to participate in activities that are beneficial to the community. The club gives students an opportunity to lead, organize and plan the activities as officers and members. All interested students are welcome.
