Our comprehensive, 50-hour phlebotomy certification course is designed to provide advanced learning and preparation for students with an interest in working in phlebotomy and blood collection. Students in this course will be able to demonstrate tactile skills enabling them to effectively locate veins and draw from manikins and human subjects. Students will be expected to master terminology associated with phlebotomy practice, perform venipuncture on others without harm or injury, and successfully obtain 25 successful venipuncture sticks per NCCT requirements. Upon completion of this course, students will be eligible to sit for the National Centers for Competency Testing (NCCT), Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Exam.

EMS ISD provides daily transportation between the HCTC and the home campuses. Students may drive personal vehicles to and from the HCTC with a 1) Signed parent/guardian transportation form and 2) Proof of automobile insurance on file at HCTC. HCTC will issue no-cost parking passes after receiving 1) and 2). Students are not allowed to transport other students during the school day.
