General Information on Dispensing

All dispensing Health Practitioners (HP’s) with licences issued under Regulation 18 of the Act, will remain valid until such time, as revoked by the Director General of the Department of Health.

However, an annual fee of R200, will still be payable.

PLEASE NOTE:

·  Have your MP no. at hand when phoning in, or quote in the subject line of your email

·  No reminders for the payment of your annual fees will be sent out by DOH

FEES:

·  The application fee for a new (first time) Dispensing licence: R1000

·  Application for relocation or additional premises or amendments: R250

·  Annual licence fee: R200 paid annually or in advance

TO OBTAIN A COPY OF YOUR NEW APPROVED DISPENSING LICENCE:

According to regulation, your dispensing licence needs to be displayed at the premises (this is also applicable to a locum)

Due to the failure of postal services lately, most dispensing HP’s is currently nót in possession of a valid dispensing licence to display physically.

Any outstanding annual fees on your current licences must be paid up, prior to the re-issue of your amended dispensing licence.

NOTE: You can however familiarize yourself with your dispensing licence profile (expiry date, physical address, status, etc.)

Go to the website www.bhfglobal.com In the top row of tabs, click on the tab: ‘PCNS’. On the right hand side of the new page, is a heading: ‘Quick Links for Administrators, Member Schemes, Managed Care Organisations’ - the 2nd link under this heading, is: ‘Dispensing Licence Search’. From there it is possible to search for info by: Practice Numbers, Licence Numbers, Surnames, etc. The search will show you the necessary details (expiry date, licence number, address & status)
