Paula Phillips & Right Road Kids™ Receive “Pay it Forward” Donation from Students

Fall Festival features “Inspiration” Centersby Paula Phillips, followed by the awarding of a special donation to Right Road Kids™ from Open Classroom Leadership Magnet students.

Thousand Oaks, CA (November 10, 2010) – Just a week after being honored by the Oxnard School Board for her extensive efforts to assist local schools, Paula Phillips convened in Circle time at the Open Classroom Leadership Magnet’s Fall Festival, and found herself in a unique position. Phillips was thrilled to be receiving a generous “surprise” donation to her non-profit organization, Right Road Kids™, from the OCLM student body as part of their leadership training and interest in helping other students.

Phillips had spent the morning of the Festival working with children in three “Inspiration” centers customized from the Right Road Kids™ curriculum, which focuses on developing self esteem, character and personal talents in children. She focused on teaching students how their own personal talents and skills can be used in their leadership roles.

"It is crucial for all children -- whatever their age, race, or background -- to learn and develop self-esteem, character, leadership traits, and life-skills. These form the amazing core from which everything else positive in kids’ lives can be built," said Phillips.

Phillips’ customized approach to working with leadership-focused kids at the Fall Festival is indicative of her passion and dedication to helping all kids and schools reach their goals. It was just over a month ago that she motivated her network of supporters and volunteers to help fill the empty library shelves at Juan Soria Elementary School in Oxnard, CA with a donation of over 2500 books, an event reported by KEYT News (

Ventura County-based Paula Phillips and Right Road Kids™ (formerly known as The Dream Fund Outreach) have been working directly with kids in schools, classrooms, and youth organizations throughout Ventura County and around the country for over eighteen years. Through a plethora of award-winning creative programs, the non-profit organization has inspired the self-esteem, character, confidence, and talents of tens of thousands of children.
