Professional Experience

NATIONAL RETAIL SYSTEMS, INC., North Bergen, NJ1999 - Present

A $350MM top national logistics provider, to many of the countries leading retailers and product manufacturers. NRS is composed of 4 unique operating entities that operate out of 30 different facilities around the country.

Director of Corporate Security

  • Responsible for the physical security of 30 separate terminal locations across the country (CCTV, Access Control, Alarms, Intrusion detection, Locks)
  • Manage a team of national investigators tasked with reducing corporate losses
  • Provide security and safety training to 2,500 employees
  • Provide executive protection to the owners and their families when needed
  • Manage both in house and contract guard forces totaling over $5MM in annual spend
  • Responsible for the selection and implementation of a GPS tracking system for all company tractors and trailers
  • Plan and direct driver recruiting and retention efforts
  • Was responsible for the companies marketing and online PR initiatives
  • Tasked with managing all new high end electronics customers that I introduced to the company

  • Wrote the companies 53 page LP policy and procedure manual
  • Successfully led the company through two of the countries toughest physical security audits for the US Government C-TPAT and FTZ
  • Selected by the US Merchant Marine Academies GMATS program as tour location for best in class physical security
  • With cargo theft on a continuous rise nationally, I have successfully kept 2,000 trucks a day from averting a trailer load loss for 8 straight years
  • Our cargo loss experience has led to insurance premium savings of over $1.7MM
  • Responsible for becoming the countries first TAPA TSR certified trucking company
  • Implemented new driver and warehouse receiving procedure that reduced claims by 31% annually
  • Designed and implemented a new yard management program designed to manage and secure over 3,000 trailers in one facility at any given time

Regional Loss Prevention Manager

  • Direct responsibility for all loss prevention and physical security measures in a 65 store region consisting of Massachusetts, Connecticut and all 5 boroughs of NYC
  • Conducted all investigations, interviews and interrogations of dishonest associates in the region
  • Managed the physical security of the corporate office and distribution center

Accomplishments

  • Reduced shrink in the region from 3.1% to 2.04% by enhancing the employee awareness and training program. I also convicted 103 dishonest associates during the same time period

  • Implemented the companies first remotely monitored security store
