ADOPT-A-PARK PROGRAM

The Papillion Public Works Department extends its appreciation to (volunteer) ______for participation in the Adopt-A-Park program by committing to sponsor (Park) ______. To establish and promote good communication between our organizations, this informal Letter of Understanding will clarify our individual and mutual responsibilities.

*****LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING*****

In the spirit of cooperation, the Papillion Public Works Department and ______mutually agree to the following:

CITY OF PAPILLION, PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

1)  Pick up and dispose of any large amounts of trash and other debris dumped onto the street scape.

2)  Remedy any safety hazards that might develop within the park area.

The City of Papillion volunteer coordinator will:

a)  Maintain contact by communicating with you two times during this agreement. The purpose of this contract will be to determine the number of volunteer hours contributed.

b)  Acknowledge our appreciation through the Department’s Volunteer Recognition Program.

c)  Gather information from you by conducting a year-end evaluation and providing the results to the group.

1)  Pick up and dispose of small amounts of trash and debris during the year (date) ______.

2)  Notify Marty Leming of the City of Papillion of any acts of vandalism or problems in the park.

MUTUAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1)  This Letter of Understanding will be effective upon the mutual consent of both parties and can be renewed on a month-to-month basis.

2)  This Letter of Understanding may be terminated by either the City of Papillion or______with (10) days written notification to the other organization.

3)  To enhance direct communication between our organization, Marty Leming will be assigned as the primary contact person from the City to communicate directly with (representative of volunteer organization)

______. Both parties agree to communicate any minor maintenance requests or safety concerns.

4)  Members of (volunteer) ______agree not to modify or add to the existing landscape or park design plan without the consent of the Public Works Director.

The City of Papillion, Public Works Department and (volunteer) ______mutually agree to the terms and conditions in this Letter of Understanding.
