Objective
Soon to be a recent college graduate in the field of marine biology you may say my only experience involves sitting in a classroom but as a very active world traveler with a bizarre reading taste obsessed with the ocean my main objective is to just make a big difference in the world of marine conservation.Education
Ohio University August 2011-May 2015
Current senior at Ohio University graduating in May with my bachelors in Marine, Freshwater, and Environmental Biology. Over the course of the four years attended here I have taken a wide range of classes and received a wide range of grades, taken the good with the bad, and accepted the whole shebang as a great learning process for what the world has to offer. Hopefully, I can use the knowledge I have accumulated to better humanity and sea-manity alike.Hawaii Pacific University September 2013- December 2013
I attended Hawaii Pacific the fall semester of my junior year on a 6-month “domestic” abroad trip, where I was able to take more relevant classes in marine biology. Being surrounded by the ocean everyday waking up only made my ten times more passionate and dedicated to pursing my major and find a focus in sea turtle conservation. Living here allowed me to get more scuba dives in and physically immerse myself in the marine world.Work Experience
Cayuga State Park May 2014-August 2014
Over the summer of 2014 I worked at a local New York State Park as a park ranger assistant, to sell tickets for entrance. I was also trained to work the computer systems that check people in and out of their respected camp and cabin sites, survey the park and campsites, clean the office, and do all necessary paperwork.Rosamond Gifford Zoo May 2013-August 2013
This acted as my college internship where I worked with an advisor in the aquarium of the zoo to help acclimate an octopus to its new environment and take care of the other marine animals. This included feeding, cleaning, watching behavior, chemical levels, and mating patterns of the organisms. On top of getting to develop a relationship with an octopus, which was truly eye opening experience. They can put a face on Mr. Potato Head!Camp Cedar May 2012-August 2012
At Camp Cedar in Casco Maine I worked as a nanny to watch two young and adorable kids who belonged to one of the owners. I was responsible for looking after them for the day, which involved as daily and nightly routines such as laundry, cooking, cleaning, and games such as swimming. This was a great job for teaching responsibility, creativity, being able to put others before yourself in every situation, and maturity in an environment where it was much needed.Skill and Cheesy Closing
Having graduated with Marine Biology degree I became certified with a Finger Lakes Open Water Certification. This has allowed me to travel all around the world and live in places such as Waikiki, Australia, Maui, and Kona and swim with such wonderful and exotic creatures. Scuba diving The Great Barrie Reef and being able to spend time in Hawaii was a life changing experience that made me realize just how beautiful ocean life and natural wonders on our planet really are. I would like to use what I learned to make the biggest difference I can to conserve, save, and life amongst marine life and hopefully I will have the opportunity and more experiences to do exactly that.
