At the Meetings

On October 4, we had guest speaker Santiago Soto from DM Dickason Personnel Services speak with us about professional employment organizations and temporary and “temp-to-hire” employees. Additionally, he explained why a personnel service such as DM Dickason helps to manage unemployment.

At the October 4th meeting we also distributed raffle tickets for the iPod shuffle, which we are raffling at the November 1st meeting to raise funds for the National Conference in Washington D.C., June 2006.

We have tentatively scheduled a Halloween Bake Sale/Candy sale for Monday, October 31 in the BC Lounge. We will gladly accept donations and arrange to pick them up!

Also discussed was a joint meeting with the Hispanic Business Student Association (HBSA) regarding diversity issues or with the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) regarding human resource information systems.

We are also discussing attendance at the El Paso professional chapter meeting. Noy Quintela, Stephanie Stewart, and Dani Baird are planning on attendance.
