Horlicks bags Silver at the Pentawards 2015
Chevron graphics shine among other global designs in the Food & Beverage category
New Delhi, November 05, 2015: GSK Consumer Healthcare’s flagship product Horlicks has won the Silver Pentaward for the ‘Chevron graphics’ on the EVO jar of its base variant. The international jury of Pentawards 2015- a worldwide competition devoted exclusively to Packaging Design was chaired by French designer, Gérard Caron and the award ceremony took place at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), London.
The Chevron graphics on the EVO jar were created to achieve an impactful shelf presence. The Chevron Design is an exceptional shape comprising two arms - one that represents all the goodness of Horlicks through its nutritious ingredients and food value, while the other embodies the entire science of it through its scientific claims. The two arms converge harmoniously creating a perfect balance in the nutrition and science story even as the Chevron Design holds the complete branding together as the main focal point between packaging and communication. In the process it creates a unique identity that straddles various Horlicks products and brands and also allowing for greater scope to communicate the relevant brand proposition as cited by Kishaloy Basu, Design lead, ISC. The award was received by the GSK design team led by Jamie Stone, Global Head of Design- Nutrition & GI, GSK.
Commenting on the win, Prashant Pandey, EVP Marketing, GSK Consumer Healthcare India said, “Packaging design in today’s age plays a critical part in creating a connect with consumers. The new pack design on Horlicks expresses the core product values of Horlicks very well and has kept the brand contemporary for today’s consumers. Recognition of this work at a global platform is a big boost to everyone involved in making it happen .”
Pentaward is a world-wide packaging design competition. Every year, it receives over 2000 entries, all of which are individually rated by a panel of international judges. Only designs with the clearest immediate vision and impact reach the award stages.
