INDIANAPOLIS -- (PRNEWSWIRE) -- Sept. 9, 2005 -- Today at CEDIA EXPO, Dedicated Devices, Inc. (DDi) and Leviton Manufacturing announced they have integrated RealNetworks’® market-leading Rhapsody® online music service with the Leviton Entertainment and Applications Platform (LE&AP). With Rhapsody support integrated into LE&AP, homeowners can enjoy complete access to their Rhapsody music through any television and entertainment system in their homes.
LE&AP is the first built-in media server, providing central storage, back-up and playback of digital music, video and photos throughout the home. Homeowners with LE&AP systems and a Rhapsody subscription will now have easy access to their personalized Rhapsody library from any room of the house. Rhapsody subscribers will be able to browse and enjoy their favorite music, playlists and Internet radio stations.
“The addition of Rhapsody support provides homeowners with a complete digital music experience – no matter where they want to hear music, or what music they are in the mood for,” said Jeffery K. Moeser, CEO, Dedicated Devices, Inc. “Using a simple TV interface to access their Rhapsody accounts, homeowners will have access to an almost endless catalog of digital music from any room of their house.”
“The LE&AP/Rhapsody combination extends Rhapsody’s reach into the living room and gives homeowners a new way to enjoy the service,” said Bud Rosenthal, vice president of music marketing and operations for RealNetworks. “We're excited to be offering homeowners a complete digital music experience that lets them enjoy Rhapsody all over their homes.”
The Rhapsody service support will ship with all new LE&AP systems and will be offered via a free firmware upgrade to current LE&AP system owners. As part of the agreement, all LE&AP owners will receive a 30-day free trial of the Rhapsody Unlimited service.
Dedicated Devices, Inc. and Leviton are showcasing the new offering at the 2005 Custom Electronic Dealers and Installers Association EXPO in Indianapolis, IN. For a demo and to receive a free 30-day trial of Rhapsody, please visit Leviton’s booth #1842 in the Indiana Convention Center from September 9 through 11.
