Please give a detailed description of the proposed activity that is to be supported by the grant. / Due to the diverse nature of the activities that may be supported by this scheme some of the information requested in this section may not be applicable for all activities, or there may be information of relevance that has not been asked for. Give details of the event including, as applicable, content of planned sessions, number and names of invited speakers, whether food/drink will be served and when, opportunities for networking, and making particular mention of the opportunities for younger scientists to participate in the event (for example, by presenting their research). Indicate how the event will be publicised to potential attendees.

(E) PURPOSE AND JUSTIFICATION FOR HOLDING THE EVENT
Define the target audience and its expected size. Indicate whether this is a new or repeat activity and how it was initiated. Comment on the need for this event at this time and how it will contribute to the career and professional development of attending microbiologists.
(F) PERSONNEL INVOLVED IN THE ORGANISATION OF THE EVENT
Give brief details of the organisational structure and give comment on the suitability of personnel involved to oversee the successful organisation of the event. Indicate how many personnel are students or early-career researchers.
(G) EVALUATION
Describe how you will evaluate the success of yourevent.
3. Financial details
(A) EXPECTED COSTS
Itemise all costs (not just those that would be covered by the requested grant), including speakers travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses, any room or AV rental, lunch or other food, printing and publicity, insurance orpayments to student or similar helpers. If the grant will be used to cover speaker expenses give the name and address of the speaker the topic of the talk.
(B) OTHER FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Give details of any funding that has been obtained (or is anticipated) from other sources, including your institution, to supplement any grant made for this event.

4. Equality and diversity

5. Safety and Insurance
All events should be undertaken with appropriate adherence to COSHH and other relevant H&S legislation where necessary. For activities that are taking place away from your institution or place of employment, please give details of the public liability insurance for any event, including who is responsible.
6. Supporting statement
To be supplied as a separate sheet by your head of department. The statement should confirm that your university/employer supports this event taking place and that the details provided in this application are correct. If any part of the event is to be carried out in your department, this should include a statement that appropriate provision will be made for the event to take place there. Comment should be given on other funds available to support the event.
