POST TITLE: Cheshire Restorative Services Manager
HOURS OF WORK: 30 Hours per week to include some evening/weekend sessions (Based in Ellesmere Port)
SALARY: £26,572 to £28,219 per annum plus 5% pension contribution (pro rata)
RESPONSIBLE TO: REMEDI Assistant Director
JOB PURPOSE: Remedi have been contracted by the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire to deliver Victim led Restorative Justice and Mediation Services. We are looking to recruit a Manager that will work with our partners in Cheshire to develop and implement a Restorative Services HUB, delivering Restorative Justice and Mediation across a range of offences and conflict.
The role will involve supervising, supporting and training Remedi practitioners/volunteers and other professionals delivering Restorative Services. The manager will take responsibility for ensuring the service is promoted and is accessible to victims of crime, whilst ensuring delivery is of a best practice standard.
NB- The successful candidate will be required to access Niche (Police Recording System) and will therefore need to complete the Police Vetting Process.
DETAILS OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To support the existing development and expansion of a Cheshire based Restorative Services Hub, made up of Remedi Restorative Practitioners, volunteers and other professionals trained in Restorative Practice.
• To be the first point of contact for all Restorative Justice and Mediation referrals into the Hub.
• To work with partner agencies to develop a Restorative Strategy for Cheshire
• To continue to develop referral protocols/service level agreements with other agencies/provider
• To deliver Restorative Practice training sessions/talks to a variety of audiences/professional bodies.
• To take responsibility for the recruitment, training and supervision of Restorative practitioners and volunteers.
• To monitor service performance and caseloads of all staff/volunteers and ensure staff development via regular case supervision, formal supervision sessions and annual appraisal process.
• To conduct regular risk assessments of service delivery to safeguard staff/volunteers, service users and the organisation
• To identify ongoing training needs for self/staff and deliver/source necessary training. Any training to be authorised by the Director in all instances.
• To communicate all service developments to staff/volunteers in a clear, precise and timely manner.
• To ensure all records are kept in an accurate and up to date manner
• To regularly review referrals and outcomes and produce monthly performance reports.
• To meet with Cheshire OPCC for meetings and to liaise/meet with other agencies to regularly review service delivery.
• To identify and take all action required to address an identified area of shortfall in service performance.
• To monitor and evaluate overall performance of outcomes and outputs and to provide detailed statistical reports as required by partnership agencies, the Remedi Director and Management committee as required.
• To establish and maintain strong partnership links on a local basis with all identified key agencies to both promote services and to identify/pursue potential funding.
• To regularly analyse service user engagement and feedback to inform the marketing and communication plan
• To attend regular management meetings.
• To ensure Remedi systems and procedures are maintained at all times.
• To comply and ensure compliance with all Remedi policies.
• To comply and ensure compliance with ‘The Victims Code of Practice 2015’ and ‘The EU Directive for Victims of Crime’
• To ensure the strict adherence to all legal requirements relating to Remedi work- Rehabilitation of Offenders, Equal Opportunities, Data Protection, Criminal Justice Act, Safeguarding and the Code of practice for victims of crime (2015).
• To manage staff/volunteer expenses and petty cash systems
• To represent and promote Remedi in a professional manner at all times.
• To organise and support a local ‘steering group’ or ‘committee’ made up of representatives of key partnership agencies. Meetings of this group to be held a minimum of once per quarter.
• To identify possible sources of funding and communicate this in a timely fashion to the Remedi Director and, where appropriate, to submit funding applications.
• To identify potential areas for service development taking into account local trends and opportunities.
• To fully support the promotion and expansion of Restorative Services in communities across Cheshire
• To develop a range of Restorative Services and projects to meet the needs of both partnership agencies and the local community.
• To work some evenings and weekends when required.
• To undertake any other task, commensurate with the position, as identified by the Remedi Director/Assistant Director
