LAND Council on Professional Issues Call for Abstracts

for Poster Sessions at the2017LAND Annual Conference and Training

This is your opportunity to present innovative areas of practice, educational research projects at the LANDannual meeting in Baton Rouge. All LAND members including graduate and undergraduate students are eligible. This will offer Louisiana dietetics professionals a great opportunity to see and speak with others across the state about the various avenues of practice.

Regardless of your area of practice and expertise, YOU have something unique to share with your fellow LAND members. Possible areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Professional skills
  • Nutrition Assessment and Diagnosis
  • Wellness & Public Health
  • Medical Nutrition Therapy
  • Education training and counseling
  • District and State Association activities

Guidelines:

  1. Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics members in all membership categories including student membershipare eligible to present. All students must submit a letter from a faculty advisor approving the paper for review.
  2. All participants will be required to pay the appropriate registration fee for the annual meeting.
  3. Submissions are limited to one abstract per main author.
  4. Abstracts are judged by COP chair and program committee. Applicants will be notified about acceptance and details of presenting by February5. Poster sessions are presented at the LANDAnnual Conference and Training. Posters will be presented during the exhibit hall on Tuesday, March 7 from 11:00-1:00p.m.
  5. Poster sessions are 2 hours in length.
  6. All posters must be presented by the main author or co-author, no substitutions are permissible.
  7. Research in progress should not be presented. Present only completed research.

Preparation of Abstracts:

  1. Abstract should be typed using the template provided, double-spaced, 12 point font, and no more than two pages in length.
  2. Provide names, titles, and affiliations of all authors/presenters.
  3. Include the name, address, email, day and evening phone numbers of the primary presenter.
  4. Abstracts that do not meet the above requirements will not be considered.
  5. You will receive a confirmation email once your abstract has been received.

Abstracts should be emailed to Becky Laskowski, LAND Council on Professional Issues Chair at. Abstracts are due February 1, 2017.
